A Utah based, global leader in the health and fitness industry is wildly expanding their nutrition line and looking for a Director to take the lead on expanding a Nutrition division. They will be responsible for building the overall Nutrition strategy, creating, and executing seasonal merchandising plans, working with internal and external resources on design, sourcing, and production. This role will report into the Business Director for Apparel and Nutrition and partner with the companies hardgoods divisions to ensure total brand cohesion. Success in this role will require a well-rounded skill set and experience. Primarily, they need to have the quantitative skills of a merchant, but ideally this person has a vision and a keen sense of Nutrition as well. This role needs to leverage consumer insights and trends, to drive business strategy and category growth. This role will require a strong collaboration mindset and the ability to consider global influence and communication. This role will also work with the Marketing team to elevate the product go to market and drive demand. The ideal candidate is engaged in the fitness/nutrition community and is passionate about bringing innovative products to market for the core and casual practitioner.
Drive Nutrition strategy, including product development, market positioning, assortment plan and drop cadence.
Create and activate merchandising strategies aligned with long and short-range plans, revenue and margin targets and brand goals.
Manage external design resources, establishing and ensuring they meet clear plans, guidelines, and deliverables.
Create a complete go to market timeline and manage all parties to their deliverables and milestones.
Manage SKU efficiencies in relationship to sales and production MOQ requirements.
Partner with Demand Planning to build seasonal forecasts connected to merchandising strategies and financial goals including markdown planning and end of season liquidation strategies.
Create a feedback loop from ambassadors, teachers, and trainers to drive constant improvement on taste, quality, and future line decisions.
Partner closely with internal partners on product, production, sourcing, and operations.
Partner with Marketing and business teams to develop appropriate product marketing to drive demand and sell through (including driving direction on digital assets – identifying hero items, key features to callouts, etc.).
Reporting – partner with Demand Planning on reporting (weekly style KPIs, monthly & quarterly hind sights).
Responsible for margin and target cost

Skills: Vision, understanding of big picture
Merchandising, assortment planning and buying
Project management and organization skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and calendars
Works very effectively across multitude of stakeholder departments
Communication and presentation skills to drive understanding and consensus
Extensive knowledge of the yoga product market and related businesses
Retail math wizard
Work experience in yoga, sports, fitness, and gear industry desired
Knowledge of technical materials desired
Be positive and willing to have fun while working
Be someone that others love to work with and follow
Min Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, apparel, or related field
5+ years of relevant experience in merchandising or product line management
2+ years of experience leading a team
