Danaher Corporation Field Applications Manager, NGS in Logan, Utah

The Manager of Field Application is responsible for implementing and executing the sales strategy for a specific product line.

Ideally, we would like the Field Applications Manager, Americas to be in :

  • Chicagoland area

  • San Fran Bay Area

  • Boston (aka Gene Town)

Reports to: VP of Sales

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises and directs staff which would include employee hiring, training, evaluations, and performance evaluation.

  • Participates in and supports the development efforts for a specific product line

  • Delivers strategies for product launches

  • Assists in the identification and relationship development of customer partnerships

  • Assists in the development of sales training

  • Creates reporting tools and structure to monitor and project product line sales

  • Assists with troubleshooting efforts both internally and externally

  • Manages production and creation of lead campaigns for a specific product line

  • Works with VP of Sales Americas, Director of Sales NGS, and product managers to maximize short and long term product sales growth

  • Monitors product competitor behavior and recommends actions when warranted

  • Supports sales opportunities through technical knowledge

  • Supports and contributes to global genomic solution strategies

  • Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates

  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required

  • Advanced degree preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience required

  • Management experience preferred

  • Experience selling a specific product line (i.e. Functional Genomics, Gene Expression & Genotyping) required

Other Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with oligonucleotide synthesis and applications

  • Ability to establish, build and maintain cooperative industry relationships

  • Ability to utilize and apply technical knowledge and skills

  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers, employees, and all levels of management

  • Adaptability to perform under stress when confronted with critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or situations in which working speed and sustained attention are make-or-break aspects of the job.
